America frets over etiquette for royal visit
EBEN HARRELL
THEIR nation was born in rebellion with the equality of all men enshrined in its founding documents. But as Americans mark the 400th anniversary of the first Britons to arrive on their shores, they are struggling with how much deference to pay the Queen on her first visit to the upstart colonies in 16 years.
Officials for Tim Kaine, the governor of Virginia, are sufficiently concerned about the etiquette of meeting the monarch that an entire page is devoted to the subject on his website.
But the same page also affirms that "there are no obligatory codes of behaviour, especially in the US - as we do not recognise the Queen as our head of nation". The state is holding a lottery to give more than 100 "commoners" front-row places for a royal walkabout.
Officials will ask winners to dress appropriately "with no 'I'm With Stupid' T-shirts etc".
Workers have been painting fences, installing lampposts and laying bricks and grass ready for the royal arrival.
The Queen will also fulfil a lifelong dream to attend the Kentucky Derby at the Churchill Downs racetrack.
Her visit will mark the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the first permanent English colony in the United States.
DO'S
AIDES to the Queen insist the monarch understands that human interactions have changed with the times.
But committing a social faux pas in her presence can have far-reaching consequences.
At Prince William's passing-out parade at Sandhurst, Carole Middleton, the mother of William's then-girlfriend Kate, was seen chewing gum in the presence of the Queen. According to some reports, such behaviour may have played a role in the couple's eventual break-up. But Mrs Middleton's mistake was not nearly as cringe-worthy as that of the late media magnate Robert Maxwell, who once put his arm around the Queen.
While it is a generally accepted mistake, tradition holds that you should not try to shake hands with the Queen, even if she offers. Bow or curtsy instead. Further, you should never wear gloves in her presence, nor turn your back on her. Tatler's advice is "you may not shake the Queen's hand, only touch it briefly".
You should never say "pleased to meet you" when you meet the Queen. It is to be assumed that everyone who meets the Queen is pleased.
There is also a lexicon of acceptable words. A common pitfall is for people to choose posh-sounding words that are actually incorrect. Mrs Middleton's crimes allegedly included using "toilet" and "pardon". Experts say "lavatory" or "loo" or even "bog" is appropriate, but not "toilet". Other such words include mirror, settee, serviette and notepaper, which should be looking glass, sofa, napkin and writing paper.
DON'TS
AN OFFICIAL website for the state of Virginia is offering pointers to its citizens on how to act in the presence of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.
"Bowing is not required of US citizens," it advises. "Shaking hands is acceptable." Should citizens feel obliged to observe strict formality, however, the right ways to curtsey and bow are explained just in case. Men bow their head only. Women place the right foot behind the left heel and then slightly bend the knees. In addition, it is explained that: "At least in Britain, when the Queen stops eating, you stop as well."
The site tells those likely to meet the Queen that she should be addressed first as Your Majesty and then as Ma'am, "which rhymes with jam".
But it warns: "By rank, the Duke of Edinburgh is lower than the Queen; thus he is addressed as Your Highness (NOT Your Majesty, aka King)."
On what to wear, the people of Virginia are told: "Members of the Royal Family do not wish anyone to be put to unnecessary expense by buying special clothes, hats or gloves."
While this covers the basics of royal etiquette, the Queen's own website lists a catalogue of further advice.
The most complicated element concerns letter writing, as notes to the Queen should be addressed in the care of The Master of the Household.
The state also has a dedicated phone number, "Virginia's Royal Welcome hotline" offering information about the Queen's stay on Thursday and Friday.

The sore questions of class are in the air again. Was Kate Middleton just too middle class for Prince William? Must the future Queen of England only be upper class? And just how easy is it to tell a person's class?
The social snobbery lampooned in My Fair Lady is still thriving in upper-class circles
According to Daily Telegraph letter writer Andrew Baxter, you can tell instantly the class of people by using the car test: "A couple taking another couple out for a drive would sit themselves thus: working class, men in the front. Middle class, man with his own partner in the front. Upper class, man with the other partner in the front."
So which class are you? Settle the matter once and for all with a tongue-in-cheek quiz...

WHAT IS FASHION ?
AMERICA NEEDS TO KNOW!
WHAT IS FASHION taken from Wikipedia encyclopedia.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Modern fashion design is roughly divided into two categories, haute couture, and ready-to-wear. A designer's haute-couture collection is meant exclusively for private customers and is custom sized, cut and sewn. To qualify as an official "haute couture" house, a designer or company must belong to the Syndical Chamber for Haute Couture, a Paris-based body of designers governed by the French Department of Industry that includes American, Italian, Japanese, and other designers as well. An haute couture house must show collections twice yearly with at least 35 separate outfits in each show. It is often shown on the catwalk and in private salons.
Ready-to-wear collections are not custom made. They are standard sized which makes them more suitable for larger productions. Ready-to-wear collections can also be divided into designers/createur collections and Confection collections. Designer/createur collections have a high quality, a superb finish and a unique cut and design. These collections are the most trendsetting compared to Haute Couture and Confection. Designer/createurs ready to wear collections contain often concept items that represent a certain philosophy or theory. These items are not so much created for sales but just to make a statement. The designer's ready-to-wear collection is also presented on the international catwalks by people who do fashion modeling.
Confection collections are the ones we see most commonly in our shops. These collections are designed by stylists. The brands that produce these collections aim only for a mass public and are in general not searching for new grammar for the language or a new point of view on/of fashion.
Although many modern fashion designers work in a "traditional" way -- making clothes that are fancy and expensive, but still based on standard/traditional construction and design concepts -- some designers have broken these "rules" over the years. These include some now-deceased designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli, who worked in the thirties, forties, and fifties; Japanese designers Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons, and Junya Watanabe from the early eighties to the present; and designers from the mid-nineties onward. An example of a modern-day rule-breaker is Martin Margiela. These designers approach clothing, Fashion and lifestyle from new angles and explore also the boundaries of Fashion itself in order to create new concepts and views for fashion design. Their collections are not only restricted to garments (ready to wear as well as couture) and other fashion-related products, but also contain work in other media. The works of this breed of designers can also be placed in a certain Art movement.
Most fashion designers attend an Academie of fine arts. Fashion design courses are considered applied arts just like graphic design and interior design.
The types of fashion designer -- stylist versus designer -- are often confused. A stylist inspires his/her designs on existing things, trends and designers collections. A designer starts from scratch; he/she develops a unique concept and translates this into garment collections, other lifestyle related products or a statement in various other types of media. Some designers approach their work just as a fine arts painter or sculptor.
Inspiration for fashion designers comes from a wide range of things and cannot be pinpointed exactly. However, just like all artists, they tend to keep an eye on things going on world-wide to inspire themselves towards making their future clothes lines.
Most fashion designers are trained as pattern makers and modeleurs. A typical design team is made up of one or more: designer(s), pattern maker(s) /modeleur(s), sample maker(s), buyer(s) and salesman (men). For presentations and catwalk shows the help of hair dressers, make-up artists, photographers, modeling agencies, the model and other support companies/professions is called upon.
As fashion became more and more a large business, designers also began to license products (for example, perfume and bags).

To stay trendy try putting a bright colored warm scarf with matching gloves and over the top of boot socks.
To look professional try a matching scarf and gloves and perhaps head scarf all in the same color hue.
in the office I suggest cuddle duds and perhaps spanx they make you shape up as well as keep you warm
when wearing address in the workplace try colored hose or tights with matching shoe to continue a long legged look try not to wear the ankle strap on the foot it may cut you off.
Wool trousers an slacks neatly pressed do a great job of keeping warm pair them with a warm neatly looking sweater of contrasting color and matching boots

MADONNA JOINS WITH H&M TO CREATE FASHION LINE A modern twist on feminine classics
The creative collaboration between Madonna and H&M continues with the arrival of the ”M by Madonna” collection, which will be available worldwide on March 22, 2006 in all H&M stores having women’s departments. Margareta van den Bosch, H&M's head of design, and Madonna have come together to create a line of clothing that reflects Madonna's fashion sensibilities, modern elegance and femininity.
"Madonna has a remarkable feel for fashion and trends. She is a total professional, inspiring and enthusiastic. She was involved in even the smallest details of every design. The result, ‘M by Madonna,’ is all about fashion that people can really love and wear season after season," states van den Bosch.
The unique yet classic “M by Madonna” line includes glamorous tops, trendy lumber jackets, tailored blazers and other apparel, such as shirt dresses and kimono dresses. A Madonna favorite is a stylish trench coat in cotton poplin or leather. The palette is primarily a neutral one – white, black, khaki and grey. Fabrics range from silk, wool and viscose jersey to body-sculpting lycra. The entire line is embellished with a small “M” logo on linings, zippers and buttons. In addition, the “M by Madonna” look includes a wide assortment of accessories – sunglasses, party bags, clutches and narrow leather belts.
This dream music and fashion collaboration between Madonna and H&M began last spring when H&M supplied a complete line of casual clothing for Madonna's touring troupe – the band, dancers, crew members and the Material Girl herself. On that occasion, Madonna and H&M worked together on a specially designed Madonna track suit, which was sold at H&M stores worldwide.
Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M, with over 1,300 stores in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and soon in Eastern Asia, is synonymous with fashion and quality at the best price. The company’s fashions are created by in-house designers. The ‘M by Madonna’ collection will be sold in 28 countries around the world.
Madonna, a seven-time Grammy winner, children's book author, fashion icon and visionary, is a cultural innovator of astonishing diversity and enduring appeal. Her most recent CD,, “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” immediately shot to the top of the charts in 29 countries. Her Confessions Tour was the most successful tour ever by a female artist. The DVD/CD, "The Confessions Tour - Live From London," has just been released.
some are wide some are small and narrow, Some come with many buckles some with ties some leather some are cloth.....but ALL MAKE A STATEMENT
Belts slim the waste line BUT... it depends where you were them...
try a belt over a dress or a jacket . Over a flowing top it all works..
Try a belt on top of your jeans insted of in the loops
Wide belts do slim the waste but alwasy remember what you wear and draw attention to will be your lasting impression ....
PINS
I love a good pin, and bling in the pin is good too.. Wear you larger pins on outer Coats.
Some Broches can be worn at the waiste and make a good statment wear them to close a sash or a scarf used as a belt.
Nice pieces like vintage ones look good on a V of a V neck where cleavage is shown.
Jackie Kennedy wore a pin in her hair as a tiarra one time she looked stunning ..this is a good idea when going to a black tie event.
Smaller ones on lapels.. Stated pins for an occasion are important but wear them as they were intended ..
A retirement pin is not a tie tack..nor is a honorary pin so do NOT do that ..( It cheapens the rreason you got it)
Wear such items as they were intended on the lapel over the heart because award pins are given for service and service is from the heart.
Holiday pins are just for holidays wear them and have fun..
Now about political statements ...i would suggest you wear a Patriotic pin when you are at a patriotic function, and some times it works in a public area such as shopping etc.. but do not wear offencive jewelry when you know you will offend someone .. be sensitive to others and they will be to you.. But Religious Jewelry must be respected at all times allow it to be worn and be thankful someone has faith!
Subject pins like the ribbons are wonderful items to wear ..like Breast Cancer Awareness (PINK) pins and Aids pins ( RED) are great! Remember the months these events take place wear the pin proudly if you are supporting a cause ...
Many people like to wear pins because of color remember a clue here ...some ribbons pins ( most) mean somehing if you do no agree with the meaning dont wear it,.... know the information first...
A historical note the "Ribbon" pin started when the United states had Hostageds taken overseas it was Yellow then ...Aid Awarness came in with Red et.. But all have a meaning..
I love Jewelry at weddings and events to dress up is fun WEAR YOUR BLING at night day time is not to becomming of a Lady ..
Night time it sparkles better anyway ..
Happy Wearing

TIPS FOR HOLIDAY DRESSING
* If it doesn't fit, don't force it. Remember, comfort comes first.
* Wear functional styles when entertaining at home.
* Wear foundation garments (body shapers, all-in-one, etc.) to define your overall look.
* Choose festive accessories to accentuate your holiday look.
* When hosting a soiree, dress your home to reflect the celebratory mood as well.
* Be yourself, relax and have fun!
Thanksgiving dressing..
If you decide to Theme dress I would suggest you not buy the cutsie outfits with pumpkins and leaves on them.
The are way to pricey and often after the first washing they never look the same.
To advert from that,.... try accessories that have some flare.Orange, Brown and Black are always fav colors. Try belts scarves and pins, earrings, braclets all carry themes this year. Try a Tweed jacket with russet toneds to pull of a pair of jeans with dark brown boots with a 3 inch heal ( way sexy) or a riding boot look a like, not only will it save on your pocketbook ( more$ for Christmas Shopping) but you will be able to wear them longer in the season from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve.
HOLIDAY TEAS ARE GREAT!!!
What is proper attire attending high tea?
High teas are wonderful experiences men and women alike enjoy the special feeling one gets when attending. An afternoon at the Ritz you should wear a delightful dress or a smart well fitted suit with classic pumps or hem matching slender healed boots. Stay from overtly bright colors for High teas are reminiscent of the Victorian era and the colors were pastel but muted. Fall teas are great fun because the country tweed look is wonderful and Herringbone as well.
BUT CHRISTMAS TEAS ARE THE BEST. Alwasy bring your hostess a gift and remember its bling time. Bring out the silver platters and yoru dishes and well EVERYTHING it is so much fun to dres up MEN wear yoru best suit for Christmas Tea its so wonderful to ahve this time of year look your best standing near the fire and smeeling the roses an pine..AHHHHHHH the Holiday God Bless this time. The occasion is well belssed at Christmas so bless your host with the finished look for her camera.
Open toed shoes are only good for summer twin sets are good for small parties but always wear pearls because they look classy at all time! If you are blessed enough to be asked to Buckingham Palace for Tea .. Wear a hat it is lovely and expected. Men wear a casual sport jacket and shined shoes NOT shorts and a clean shirt again if you are being asked to the Palace wear a tie as well if you are asked to the Ritz. A top coat and hat are expected at Buckingham Palace
Q Is it okay to wear open toe shoes in the winter time? I love open toe shoes, but don't really know if it is appropriate.
Undrea Ellis Accounting Manager Campbell Clinic
Can you still wear Sandals in the fall Sandals are for the very warm climates not in most of the United States. But many open toes styles of shoes are acceptable.Espically the retro 40s look shoe. BUT NOT in the work place a closed toe shoe is appropriate it looks more professional and is safer for your foot.
A
The open toed show question? For fall and winter months? of course you can if it is in the right places And you are daring! Open toes can be worn : In the evening you may even wear a strap shoe but sandals are for the beach in winter. You know those get a way spots. Or possibly when you get a pedicure. Mules and clogs are worn all year round but during the fall and winter months they tend to get heavier. Woven shoes have that open air look with a bit of coverage. Great for casual and dress wear...looking smart and elegant too. Ankle straps are gorgeous on long legs and are fine for dressy affairs. Thong shoes should not be worn in my opinion after fall it looks so summery. Slides are good for evening as well but to have them in the office is a NO NO.. Closed toed shoes are office wear especially if they have thicker heal matching color of the hem of your garment but NOT a chunky heal it makes ones foot looks to heavy and the looks draws your eye to the ground. Wedges have made a huge comeback but they are different and daring for fall but do wear them with jeans on a cool day or shopping YOU will look fantastic .. Remember to choose shoes you don't have to break in they really don't fit you get a pair of shoes that FIT and feel good then you will too. Here ladies is a tidbit about those pointed toe shoes. Stuff a bit of paper in the tip it will prevent your foot from slipping and getting cramped and will keep the shape of the shoe.
I am Man and what to know if the new seersucker suits will be out of style soon, and are they worth the investment?
ALSO should men wear matching colors with the date?
Steve W Dear Steve: NO! Seersucker is not the fabric of outerwear you want to invest in!! I am seeing it in the stores a lot but this is trendy and will not continue.
On a man it looks great if your in the southern part of the United States and well groomed with a good tan. I would not invest in Seersucker, but a piece or two is fun to accessorize with. I always saw it used mostly for children so (that's my opinion). Is it acceptable on adults yes but think about this one-first OK? Heather
Q ~ Dear H...
what do I wear to a tea party anyway? I have never been to one and have been to a party in a mansion near Chicago....
A~Hi ladies and GUYS! knowledge is power and i had to study to answer some of these.. so here goes
What to wear to a tea party? Well, I have it on good authority that their is a difference between having a tea party and a high tea.
So what to wear to a tea party is usually a casual dress even a two piece dress, or a soft flowing suit. Most dresses that are casual are those with a fuller skirt and a print of somesort.I like the fitted dress my self but that is basically reserved for HIGH TEA which is more formal. At a High Tea gloves are making a comeback but not a necessity. Colors at as tea party are usually light with a good feeling of flow at a High tea many men are inclined to be invited which will make it a bit more formal. A Black sheath dress can be worn with stylish accessories. But the look is more formal than a regular tea. But not long dresses but cocktail length is OK. Remember ladies shoes make an impact so match the hem of your skirt open toed shoes are great for regular tea. High tea means closed toe shoes. whew a lot to learn I better get brushed up! See you sipping pinkie up! Heather
Q - Dear ...
I was wondering if you are a fashion stylist and do you work on one to one basis?
Do you take people shopping? Thank you Sue from St. Charles
A - Dear Sue of St. Charles,
It's funny that you ask that question. I just ended an 8 year career with Casual Corner due to the whole chain closing. I didn't really know how much I would miss helping our customers put outfits together, and give advice to them. So, with the time off that I've had, I've done some thinking, and decided to try and go on my own, and become a fashion stylist/ personal shopper.
I'm planning on meeting the customer at her choice of store and helping her with colors, the fit, what cut is good for her, or just simple advice for what to wear to an interview, to helping what to wear to a party. There still are a lot of details that need to be taken care of before I go live, so keep reading for more information. Thanks for the question, H.....
Q- Dear ....
How do yo know what your colors are? I love red and I am blonde can I wear it?
Thank you Ruth in Missouri
A- Dear Ruth from Mo, The way to know what your colors are is by either reading a fashion magazine or, just by trying different colors on. I learned by reading the 80's book Color me Beautiful. I found out that I'm a winter. My best colors are Red, Coral, Navy, and actually Brown is good for me. I have reddish brown hair, and green eyes. For you being blonde, yes, you can wear red. Blondes look good in that color. Sometimes blondes can have fair skin, so be careful with the pastel colors, for they could wash you out. I hope this helps and thank you for the good question. H....
Q - I'm having my second interview with a Major Corporation.
Do I wear my same outfit that I wore for the first one? S.P. - Geneva Illinois
A -Dear SP Geneva IL
If you wore a black suit, switch to navy, or vice versa. But, you can wear the same one, just make sure that you change it up enough, so you do have a different look. For exmaple: If you wore pants change
to a skirt. Put a scarf around your neck if you wore a necklace, and if you choose a shell, then go with
a button down cotton or silk blouse. It's amazing what a little change can do to make your suit look so much different. I hope that this helps.
Good luck to you! Heather
Q - Can my husband wear jeans to work with a tie and a jacket?
Is this appropriate wear? R.T. - St. Charles, IL
A - Dear R T of St Charles, It really depends where your husband works, and what the dress code is. Personally, my opinion, I wouldn't mix jeans with a shirt and tie and jacket. I say jeans are a weekend wear, not work wear. By wearing jeans to work, you don't look professional enough to be taken seriously.
I hope that this answer helps. H...

SANDALS SANDALS SANDALS !!!!! Alright ladies, summer is approaching. It's time to renew your oath with regards to wearing open-toed shoes!
Please raise your big toe and repeat after me:
As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:
I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes (or toenails) will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.
I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe. I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.
I will shave the hairs off my big toe.
I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, co-worker, mother or sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.
If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.
I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.
I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. The shoes make your feet sweat.
This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.
I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages. If I have been privy to the magic that is Foot Soup, I will share that knowledge and experience with the non-initiated.
I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.
I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.
I will promise to go to my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $10 and worth EVERY penny).
I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals...
Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on you other sisters!
Hi Readers! Well, it's that time of year again, Wedding season! You get the invitation in the mail, and the first thing you think of is... What am I going to wear? Your answer to that is... I get to buy something new! I had women come into the store all the time asking what to wear to a wedding. These days anything goes! Here are some helpful tips on what to wear...
A lot of weddings are in the spring and summer months. Now is the time to go to the stores cause they have the spring and summer dresses out. If you buy a sleeveless dress, always remember to buy a wrap for the church. It's only right to respect the church and cover your shoulders. some churches may require closed toe shoes it's OK, you can change the shoes and the wrap at the reception, or use the wrap as a prop as you're dancing! A lot of women ask if it's OK to wear black to a wedding. Yes, it is OK, especially if its formal. Remember, black is an elegant hue, and it's slimming. I wore a black dress to a couple of weddings, and I wasn't the only one in one. Hey, if the bridesmaids can wear black, so can you. Here's a BIG TIP do not wear a white dress to a wedding! That goes for the mother of the bride as well! Only the bride wears white! I had a customer tell me that she had a guest show up at her wedding in a white dress. I said to the customer get out! She said that it bothered her, but she didn't say anything. I told her that if anyone shows up at my wedding wearing white, I'm sending them home to change! It's my day, and I can do and say whatever I want! Wearing white is disrespectful to the bride. When it comes to the outdoor weddings, a nice little sundress is fine. If it's at a country club, make sure your dress is appropriate and that it comes below your knees. It doesn't have to touch the floor, but it has to look elegant. Backyard weddings are easy. On the invite it will say what the dress code will be. If not, then the sundress is fine. You can always ask the bride about a dress code if one is not on the invitation. The new trend at weddings now are theme weddings. Boy, if you go to a theme wedding, have fun with it! If it's a Hawaiian theme, get a floral dress and put a flower in your hair, and have your husband, boyfriend, or date wear a Hawaiian shirt and light colored pants! Have fun and get into it! I hope I helped all of you again. I know weddings are tough to shop for, cause you always want to look nice and not upset anyone. For those of you going to a wedding this season, have a great time and look fabulous!

SPRING SHOPPING: TEE SHIRTS!!!
April 1, 2006 Hi Readers!
I have been out shopping these past few weeks to see what the styles and colors are for this spring and summer. There are a lot of great pieces out there.
To help you out if you're looking for t-shirts go to Banana Republic. They have great colors and styles. I bought two t-shirts for $35. They are great quality, and they fit very nice. I've been in Express for those of you who are looking for some fun clothes! They have great tops, and pants. If you go out to the dance clubs that's the store for you!
Lerner New York has a great new line for spring. The colors are teal and white. Very feminine and clean. For you ladies that are expecting a baby, Mimi Maternity has some very cute clothes. You can be right in fashion with everyone else this spring and summer.
The department stores such as Kohl's, Carson's, and JC Penny have nice colors as well. I got a few pieces from Kohl's. I'm very happy with my purchases that I've made so far for the spring. You should start seeing shorts in April. If you see a style that you like, get them right away! Don't wait till they go on sale. Your size won't be there by then.
The department stores are starting their Easter sales! If you need a new outfit for Easter, go now while the sales are on! Look through the catalog when it comes in the mail, never not look, cause you may miss out!
Well, I hope I have helped you out on where to go to get the latest fashions.
Hello All, I was out over the weekend, and a friend of mine bought a new pair of jeans, and wasn't sure if they looked good. So, I looked at them on her, and they were a flattering cut for her. She is on the heavy side, and she wanted my opinion on the fit, cause she knew that I would tell her the truth. They fit a little low on her waist, and flared at the bottom. They fit nice through the legs, and her waist. They didn't pull in the rear, that isn't what you want ladies. You want your rear to look good, not look like it's going to bust out of the jeans. Here are some tips on when shopping for jeans.
1) Take more than one pair of your size. Believe it or not, they will fit differently.
2) If you are short in the rise, buy a low cut jean. You don't have to buy the super low, like all the young ones do. There are ones out there that actually cover your underwear. ( to make sure your underwear is covered, go to Victoria Secret or your local Target or Walmart and buy low rise panties).
3) You don't want your jeans to look like you borrowed them from Steve Erkle. Do not wear the waist up to your chest. Your waist is between the bottom of your rib cage, and your hip bone.
4) If your going to wear your jeans with boots, the most important factor is that your jeans are long enough. If the bottom of your jeans are sticking straight out, they are too short. You want the bottom of the jean to break in the front, and the back to lay flat. Boot cut was invented for two reasons. 1 they're long enough, and 2 they are wide enough for boots.
5) The rear is the most important! You want it to look good! Try on every pair of jeans that you own and check out your rear. If they are hugging your rear to the point of busting out, GET RID OF THEM! Not a good look. If they are creeping up, GET RID OF THEM! I can't begin to tell you how unflattering that is. You want your rear to fill out the jean, and have a clean look. The cleaner your rear looks the smaller it will look. Not all men sing " I like big butts and I can not lie" Trust me, I have heard some nasty comments from men about women wearing too tight of jean.
6) Last but not least. If you find a cut or brand that you like, buy more than one pair, and stick with it.
Well, I hope that information helps. I know jeans are a pain to buy. I hate buying them myself, but I have found the cut, the style, and brand that works for me. Good luck in your next purchase!
